Hyderabad, In a tragic incident, an old building collapsed in Chilkalguda area due to which two persons were buried alive.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials and eye witnesses said, “the incident occurred at around 11 PM yesterday when a part of the two-storied building in dilapidated condition collapsed, resulting in the death of Akbar and Wajid, both in their 40s”.

Telangana Excise Minister T Padma Rao, who visited the spot, said in view of rains lashing the city for the past couple of days, this old building collapsed.

According to an eye witnesses, “the incident occurred while Akbar, who runs a meat centre on the ground floor of the building, was closing the shop, resulting in on the spot death of Akbar and Wajid, who works at the shop”.

Chilkalguda Police registered a case in this connection.
