The departure of famous Bollywood superstar Dilip Kumar has left everyone very sad. He breathed his last at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. Dilip Kumar has inspired people of every decade with his performance. His unique style is etched in everyone's heart. There are many stories from Dilip Kumar's life that very few people know about it. Once Dilip Kumar had to go to jail because of his speech against the British. 

Dilip Kumar had said about the story the incident in his auto biography The Substance and Shadow. This was at a time when Dilip Kumar had to drop out from Bollywood industry and work to help his father. Dilip Kumar had started working as a manager in the Military Contractor's Club as the family's financial condition was not good.

The speech against the British:-
It was before the dream that when Dilip Kumar worked in a military canteen, his sandwiches were loved by all. He had also become very popular for it. Dilip Kumar had made a speech one day because of the British rule in India. In which he said that the battle of India is perfect. The English rulers are wrong. Just what was it then. Dilip Kumar was sent to Yerwara jail for making a speech against the British. At that time, many Satyagrahis were also lodged in jail. Dilip Kumar had mentioned in his book that at that time Satyagrahis were called Gandhiwale. They also went on hunger strike supporting other prisoners. Dilip Kumar was released from jail the next day. He had said that 'The next morning, when a major of my acquaintance came, I was released from jail and since then I too had become Gandhiwala'.
