LOS ANGELES: Fans of Miranda Priestly can anticipate a new chapter in the glamorous world of high fashion as Disney develops a sequel to the 2006 hit film, "The Devil Wears Prada."

Starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, the original film, adapted from Lauren Weisberger's novel, remains a beloved drama among audiences.

Directed by David Frankel, the story revolves around Andy (Hathaway), a recent graduate hired as an assistant to one of New York's most influential magazine editors. Her life takes a tumultuous turn when she encounters her demanding boss (Streep), who brooks no opposition.

Aline Brosh McKenna, the original film's screenwriter, is reportedly in discussions to join the project. Details about the cast are yet to be disclosed, including whether the original stars will return to reprise their roles, according to Variety.

The sequel is said to follow Priestly as she navigates the changing landscape of magazine publishing, pitted against Emily Charlton (Blunt), now a powerful executive in a luxury group with crucial advertising revenue that Priestly desperately seeks.

"The Devil Wears Prada" became an immediate success, grossing $326.7 million worldwide. Streep's portrayal earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy, cementing it as one of her iconic roles.

Over time, the film has achieved cult status, with its memorable scenes and dialogues becoming fixtures in internet memes and reels.

In addition to Streep, Hathaway, and Blunt, the original cast included Adrian Grenier, Simon Baker, Gisele Bundchen, Daniel Sunjata, Tracie Thoms, Rebecca Mader, Alyssa Sutherland, and David Callegati.
