Ahmedabad: Three people including a civil surgeon in charge of the hospital were detained on charges of abetting a nurse working in a government hospital in Navsari, Gujarat. Police has given information about this on Tuesday. He said that two other employees of the absconding hospital are being searched.
On giving information about the case, an official of Vejalpur police station said that the body of a nurse working in the corona ward of the hospital was found hanging on October 21 at the house of her family members in Gujarat. Deputy Superintendent of Police SG Rana said that the civil surgeon in charge, the woman's husband and mother-in-law were taken into custody on Monday night on the basis of a letter allegedly written by the nurse and her mother's complaint. After receiving the Corona report, they will be arrested. He said that the investigation of the chief nurse of the hospital and the charge of operation theatre is going on.
Another police officer has said that the civil surgeon is accused of sexually assaulting the nurse. Two other hospital personnel are alleged to have forced the woman to do so in order to retain her job. The woman's husband and mother-in-law are accused of demanding dowry and assaulting her.
