Ayushmann Khurrana’s Doctor G hit the screen. In the film, Doctor G (Dr Uday Gupta) is played by Ayushmann Khurrana. It is based on the concept of a Male Gynecologist feel uncomfortable in treating female patients. However, the movie is doing not well at the Box office. The collection is further decreases.
As per the box office, Doctor G has also put up an underwhelming show at the ticket window and is expected to wrap up its theatrical run with collections of Rs 25 crore or less. The movie was released with limited promotions and has been performing at multiplexes in selected circuits
Doctor G was released with Code Name Tiranga and the Hindi dubbed version of Kantara. While Code Name Tiranga was wiped out early on, Doctor G managed to earn a respectable first weekend total of Rs 15.03 crore. Now the box office numbers and the footfalls have declined on the weekdays. On Monday and Tuesday, the collections were in the range of Rs 1.50 crore. This took its five-day business to Rs 16.85 crore. On Wednesday, the business remained steady and now the film's collections at the end of six days stand at Rs 18 crore. Meanwhile Kantara is doing very well at box office.
Speaking about Doctor G is based on medical campus comedy-drama, Doctor G is about the hilarious struggles of Dr. Uday Gupta, who wanted to specialize in Orthopaedic, but is stuck in an all-female class of Gynaecology. Ayushmann's Uday understands women aren't comfortable with male doctors when it comes to gynaecology. However, there's Shefali Shah as Dr Nadini to pull him and the audience out of this notion. She wants him to lose the male touch and take his responsibility as a doctor seriously. This awkward confrontation of Dr Uday with female physiology is what Doctor G is all about.
