Washington: US President Joe Biden has directed the removal of some documents related to September 11, 2001, US terror attack from the confidential list. The government's decision will be helpful to the families of victims who have been demanding records for a long time regarding their allegations against the Saudi government.

The order comes just a week before the completion of 20 years of the 9/11 terror attack and the family and government clashed over years demanding that the documents be made public. Biden on Friday directed the removal of documents from the confidential list and promised that his administration would "continue to engage respectfully with members of the community."

The official order said that the tragic incident 20 years ago is still fresh in American history and in the minds of Americans. So, there is an attempt to ensure that transparency is further enhanced. The order directed the Justice Department and other executive branch agencies to initiate a review of the removal of certain records from the confidential list and require that declassified documents be issued in the next six months.
