Same if you are getting mails or messages for free Diwali gifts, or free Diwali offers by mail then those portals are trying to steal your information. According to an advisory issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), users are being targeted through links that lead to Chinese websites. These websites can steal important information including your banking details.

As per the report received, the CERT-in advisory stated, ''There are many fake messages in circulation on various social media platforms (WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram etc.). In these messages, free gifts or prizes are being offered on festivals. They are trying to woo people. Most of the women are being targeted by this type of false campaign. Cybercriminals ask people to share links between peers on WhatsApp/Telegram/Instagram accounts." The National Cyber ​​Security Agency said that most of these portals use the Chinese .cn domain extension, while others use extensions such as .xyz and .top. First of all, People will receive a message with a link. You can get this link from anyone. Even those who themselves have become victims of it. Because these websites with free offers ask the user to share the link with others. Once a user clicks on the link, they are first greeted by a false "congratulation" message. Thereafter, they are asked to fill in the details in a questionnaire. Also asks them to share messages with friends and groups on WhatsApp or other social media platforms. To avoid these types of scams, first of all, you must ensure that you do not click on a link from a website that you do not trust.
