Jamnagar:  Indian Air Force conducted air strike on Feb 46 to avenge the Pulwama terror attack. IAF bombed JeM camps and elminated many terrorists. However, the demand of the evidence of the strike came from the opposition side. Shortly after Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa confirmed that the Indian Air Force (IAF) strike on Jaish e Mohammed (JeM) camps in Balakot 'hit the target', PM Narendra Modi criticised those doubting the operation and asked why they did not trust India's armed forces.

Addressing to a rally in Jamnagar, PM Modi said, "The nation agrees that the menace of terror has to be eliminated. I want to ask you, don't you trust what our armed forces say? We should be proud of our armed forces.”

Chief Marshal Dhanoa, while addressing a press conference in Coimbatore, said that counting the number of casualties was the job of the government and not the IAF. He also confirmed that the IAF jets hit the desired target in Balakot. He said, "IAF is not in a postilion to clarify the number of casualties. The government will clarify that. We don't count human casualties, we count what targets we have hit or not.

Many opposition leaders including those in the Congress party have raised doubts over the number of terrorist casualties in the February 26 air strike at Balakot in Pakistan. Congress leader Manish Tewari referred to Dhanoa's statement and questioned how BJP chief Amit Shah pegged the number of casualties in Balakot air strikes to 250. He Tweeted,  "Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa says IAF cannot count the number of people dead in the Balakot airstrike but @AmitShah says 250 terrorists were killed? Where did the BJP President get these numbers from he must explain.”
