It appears that nature has a message for the people of England as the rest of the world mourns the passing of Queen Elizabeth. A double rainbow emerged over Buckingham Palace just before the royal family made the Queen's passing official. The Queen was kept under medical observation at Balmoral Castle after her health took a turn for the worse, it was revealed on Thursday.
People from throughout the country congregated in front of Buckingham Palace when they learned that the Queen was very close to passing away, and some others decided to stay at the Queen Victoria Memorial, which is located across from the Palace. Others braved the torrential downpours and came out in front of Balmoral Castle, where the Queen was kept under medical observation per the instructions of her doctors. The monarch's son Prince Charles and his wife Camila were the first to arrive at the Castle, and the royal family later joined the monarch in her final moments.
Prince William was the next in line, driving a green Range Rover with Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, and Sophie in the backseat. Prince Charles assumed the throne and the name King Charles III following the official news of the Queen's passing, and he also conveyed his sorrow in a statement that read, "The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty The Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family."
King Charles III continued, "We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world. During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which The Queen was so widely held."
