New Delhi: Dr. Arokia Swamy Velumani, managing director of Thyrocare, one of the world's largest pathology labs and diagnostic centers, has said that about 180 million people in India have become immune to the coronavirus. This simply means that 18 million people in the country have the ability to fight the coronavirus.
Dr. Velumani has said in a tweet that, "After testing 53,000 antibodies, the testing data has been extracted according to the pincode. In more than two hundred cases, 15 percent of antibodies have been found positive. This means that 180 million people in India have been immunized against Corona. This is such good news that it is hard to believe. Hopefully there is no problem of wrong positives coming in the test kit.
Let us tell you that the number of coronavirus infected in the country has crossed 10 lakh. The ministry has reported that 34,956 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the last 24 hours. This is the largest figure of people infected a day. During this period, 687 people died due to the epidemic. In this way 10,03,832 people have been infected with Corona in the country. At the same time, there are 3,42,473 active cases of corona in the country.
#AntibodyTesting after 53,000 tests. Data Pincode wise, of >200 cases reported.15% positive for Abs,means 18 crs already silently, immunised in India (approx 10,000 per death). Too good to believe. Hope, kits do not have high false positives. @ICMRDELHI @MoHFW_INDIA #KeepMasked pic.twitter.com/p1oWt8Pkh1
