DRDO shifts PPE testing facility from Gwalior to Delhi

New Delhi: The Defense Research Development Organization (DRDO) at the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) from the Defense Research Development Establishment (DRDO), Gwalior in view of the delay in delivery of personal protective equipment (PPE) kits and masks.

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) is another main life science lab of DRDO. The Delhi-based INMAS also facilitates evaluation of body suits and masks in addition to testing and is fully operational. More than 10 batches of these things have already been tested in the lab. Defense Research Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior which has been at the forefront of fighting the deadly Coronavirus. Now HLL Lifecare Limited is tasked with verifying the label claims of masks and body suits coming from abroad.

It will be distributed to other agencies only after confirmation from HLL Lifecare Limited. On the other hand, a consignment of kits used to treat coronavirus has been flown to India from China's Gongzhou Airport on Thursday morning. The consignment includes 6,50,000 testing kits.
