NEW DELHI: BJP leader J.P. Nadda stated that Droupadi Murmu's personality "is an inspiration and a benchmark for us to follow" after declaring her as the NDA's presidential nominee.
At a press conference on Tuesday night, Nadda named Murmu as the NDA's presidential candidate.
Later, in a string of tweets, Nadda affirmed: "Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji with her rich administrative skill, her great history of selfless social service and her relentless enthusiasm to work for the upliftment of society, will make her the capability of a great President for our country."
He stated that announcing her as the NDA's presidential candidate was an honour under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, "Her character is an encouragement to us all and a standard for us all to follow.
The BJP said that Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji has made "immense contributions to our nation" and "possesses a great deal of competence in several fields, which will be very helpful to our country." He added, "Her efforts toward the uplift of the society's marginalised parts are likewise greatly acknowledged.
