Mumbai: The brother of Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, Shouvik has been granted bail by the NDPS court. Shauvik Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) probing after the drug angle surfaced in the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
After hearing the drug case on Tuesday, the Mumbai-based Special NDPS court approved the bail application of Shauvik Chakraborty. It is noteworthy that Shauvik is accused of dealing and consuming drugs with Sushant and others. About two months ago, the Bombay High Court rejected Shauvik's bail plea.
24-year-old Shauvik was arrested on September 4. Since then, the special court and the Bombay High Court had flatly refused to grant bail. The court had found during the investigation that Shouvik was in touch with drug dealers and bought drugs to supply to actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
