Mumbai: The Anti Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch has seized drugs worth over Rs 1 crore. The Ghatkopar unit has also arrested two big drug suppliers. MD drugs have been seized from the culprit, whose value in the international market is estimated to be One crore one lakh rupees. The Ghatkopar unit has arrested a Nigerian drug supplier from Nalasopara area. Another 59-year-old drug supplier was also caught in Mumbai's Kurla area. MD drugs have also been seized from him.

The police registered a case under the NDPS Act and arrested these accused and presented them in the court. The court has remanded the accused in police custody till June 7. Recently, the Ghatkopar unit of the Mumbai Anti-Narcotics Cell arrested a drug peddler from the Dockyard Road Mazgaon area. 220 grams of MD drugs were seized from him. The value of the seized drugs was estimated at Rs 44 lakh in the international market. A case was registered against the culprit under the NDPS Act. According to the police, while patrolling, a man appeared suspicious under the Dockyard Railway Bridge. Subsequently, he was searched, and 220 grams of MD drugs were seized from him.  

Last March, the police had busted an international drug racket. The people of this gang used to smuggle drugs in packets of snacks. The Mumbai Police's Anti-Extortion Cell had arrested 40-year-old criminal Aliasghar Shirazi when he was trying to flee to Dubai. Shirazi is a key link in the ketamine and Viagra smuggling case solved by the Mumbai Police. Shirazi is a close aide of Kailash Rajput, a wanted anti-extortion cell that raided a courier office in Andheri East and recovered 15 kg of ketamine and 23,000 tablets of Viagra. The price of these drugs was about Rs 8 crore.
