New Delhi:- The team was found guilty of installing an RFID scanning device in the pit lane during practice for a Formula E event in the United States, giving it a "huge and unfair advantage", according to a stewards bulletin.

Shortly after the decision, Vergne said on social media that the system "should only read the tire serial number to know which tires other people are using. It might be something the team could do (and certainly do)."

This meant that both Vergne and teammate Stoffel Vandoorne had to start from the pits at the Portland E-Prix, finishing 11th and 12th respectively in the race.

However, after the race, Vergne made further comments in the media, criticizing the decision, particularly regarding the changed wording in the revised steward's bulletin, removing the reference to tires and only stating that the DS Penske were "collectible". Stated. "Live data for all cars".

Ahead of this weekend's Rome E-Prix doubles race, the FIA ​​held a public hearing on the matter, accusing Vergne of 'misconduct' of Article 12.2.1 c), f, k) of the International Sporting Code. and certified. "And the FIA" to those involved.

Vergne was fined €3,000 and suspended until the end of the season as he didn’t follow some of the Formula Rules and Regulations while driving the car.

The FIA statement read that "At the hearing, the driver said some of the words in the report were not his. "He did agree that some of the comments he made were disrespectful to the stewards and also to the FIA."

However, he added that from now on Vergne "will fully respect the work of the stewards and the FIA". With double races in Rome and London again this season, Vergne sits fifth in the current Formula E standings, 57 points behind championship leader Nick Cassidy. Formula E continues this weekend with a double race in Rome.
