New Delhi:-  Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez is the closest mathematically, competing in the same kit, but the Mexican is soon to be a three-time F1 world champion after 10 of 22 races. He is already 99 points ahead of Perez.

Perez also wasn't the closest driver to Verstappen at the checkered flag since he finished second in Miami six races ago in May. Verstappen has won the past six races, most recently at Sunday's British Grand Prix at Silverstone, but has finished second with five different teams and drivers in the same period.

After Perez, it was Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso in Monaco, Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton in Spain, Alonso again in Canada, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in Austria, and McLaren's Lando Norris in the UK.

"It's very confusing because every race weekend you have a different opponent," said the 25-year-old from the Netherlands, who claimed his eighth win of the season at the British Grand Prix last Sunday, a record-breaking 11th. I told you later. Bull Place is lined up.

"I think it's because the back is so close. Putting the car on a little better window works well on certain tracks. So honestly I don't know what will happen in Hungary, who is the fastest or second fastest?" He mentioned the upcoming race at the Hungaroring in Budapest.

"The factor that has kept us stable so far is that every weekend we look like we are at the top. Of course, that's the most important thing for us," said the Dutchman.

Verstappen is now effectively four races ahead of Perez. The countdown to his third title has already begun. Japan still has six races to go before the end of September, but considering Verstappen's current points quota, it doesn't seem outlandish. Still, it could be even faster if Mexico collapses.

The Red Bull duo tied for two wins each after four races, but Perez's challenge ended on track. Since the fourth round in Baku, Verstappen's lead has increased from six points to 14, 39, 53, 69, 81 and 99. There's a good chance the champion will go into the August break with a five-race cushion. The most dominant season in modern F1 to date was the 2002 F1 title won by Michael Schumacher after 11 of 17 races for Ferrari.

Verstappen's 8 out of 10 wins suggest that his own record of 15 wins last year would be in jeopardy even if Red Bull stopped developing the car in 2023 and focused on 2024. Simple math shows that a win worth 25 points (including 18 points for second place) in the remaining 12 races could give Verstappen a third title this season without another Grand Prix.

Verstappen said of McLaren's performance at Silverstone: “At the end of the day, you have to focus on yourself throughout the weekend and then know what is going on behind your back, right? Let’s see what the next race brings.”

Max Verstappen finally won the 2023 F1 World Championship letting other teams be back of him. Red Bull now thinks that who is at their back and if anyone is there then who is it?
