The work of vaccination of Kovid-19 is going on all over the world. The Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine is being sent from India to many countries, but the use of this vaccine has been banned in South Africa. It has been learned that South Africa has banned Oxford/AstraZeneca's vaccination program until the Committee of Scientists gives appropriate advice to pursue it.

According to the information received, South Africa's Health Minister Jweli Mikhaize announced the Oxford/AstraZeneca trial data after it was revealed. This trial data found the Oxford / AstraZeneca vaccine to be less effective on covid's new strain 501Y.V2. Not only this, the South Africa Government recently received one million doses of Oxford vaccine from Serum Institute of Hindustan. This vaccine was initially intended to be given to healthcare workers.

South Africa may now offer to replace Oxford / AstraZeneca with Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer's vaccine in a few days. While experts can try to understand how the AstraZeneca vaccine can be used. It is learned that Mikhaize said, "Whenever the news of virus changing and mutating comes, such decisions have to be taken. This is probably why the AstraZeneca vaccine has been banned at the moment. South Africa will have Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer vaccine in the next few weeks.

The Witwatersrand University of Johannesburg, which conducted a trial of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, said in a statement, "This vaccine provides very little protection in mild and moderate symptoms of infection of the new variant of South Africa's covid-19." AstraZeneca stated that none of the 2000 participants in the trial showed any serious symptoms. This means that it is still effective in severe symptoms. However, there is not yet enough data available to make a definitive decision.
