Amid Corona virus pandemic the Government has allowed West Bengal people to setup the Navaratri Durga pandal. People from different areas setup various type of pandals. The Durga Puja festival brings out the best in terms of creativity and art. The ideating themes for Puja pandals in West Bengal is always curious to people.  One highlighted was migrant mother avatar of goddess Durga. Followed by it, yet another depiction of Maa as Doctor fighting with corona virus and her son standing as a front line warrior gets high splash.

The year 2020 despite pandemic restrictions and lockdown, artists and organizers in Kolkata finds the pandemic as a silver line by incorporating it as a theme. Despite the court order of prohibiting people inside the pandals, the themes goes viral. In the depiction, Durga and her companions of deities Lakshmi, Saraswati, Kartikeyan and Ganesh are also depicted as essential front-line workers working no less than Gods and Goddesses to help save lives amid the coronavirus pandemic. The depiction is as follows, Durga as a doctor wearing a doctor's coat and the demon Mahishasur is Corona virus and  the trident (trishul) was replaced with vaccine. Ganesh and Karthik are depicted as a police officers and Lakshmi and Saraswati as sanitation worker are depicted as a nurse and a healthcare worker.

The images went viral in the social media. The Congress MP Shashi Tharoor shared the image of innovative idols on Twitter. The idols are being applauded as a tribute to front-line workers who have been essential in saving lives and limiting the spread of the virus amidst of the personal risk.
