Karimnagar: Several areas in Peddapalli and Rajanna-Sirisilla districts were submerged. An RTC bus of Siddipet district got washed away due to heavy inflow of flood water at Gambhirraopet on Tuesday morning. Over 150 houses have been submerged in the Housing Board Colony in Jammikunta.

Heavy rains during the last 48 hours in Karimnagar district caused panic. Several colonies in Rekurti were inundated due to heavy rains, forcing residents to stay indoors. Minister Gangula Kamalakar and Mayor Sunil Rao were apprised of the situation. Flood waters washed away on the Koheda-Indurti bridge in Chiguru Mamidi mandal.

The officials were planning to raise the mid-manyer gates to release the excess water. According to sources, Karimnagar district has received 4 cm of rain, Sircilla district 2.15 cm and Jagtial 1.5 cm in the last 48 hours. Vemulawada in Telangana received the heaviest rainfall from 8-30 am to 4 pm on Monday. SRSP SE Shivakumar and EE Nagabhushanam Rao said that 36 thousand cusecs of water was released by lifting 12 gates of LMD. Officials said more gates could be removed if the inflow picks up.
