The 47-year-old senator has said that his family is opposed to him running for president. In October, Go filed his certificate of candidacy for vice president, which was eventually promoted to the president under the ruling PDP-Laban party, which is led by Duterte. Duterte has yet to declare who he will support for the presidency.
Currently, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the son of former President Ferdinand Marcos, and Sara Duterte-Carpio, his running mate and the daughter of the current President, are leading the fourth-quarter poll done by Publicus Asia, a political think tank.
More than half of Filipino respondents supported Marcos and Duterte-Carpio for the top two positions in the Southeast Asian country, according to a recent poll conducted from December 6 to 10.
