External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar nn Wednesday, met with Greece Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias at Hyderabad House for delegation-level talks. Dendias came in India on Tuesday for a two-day official visit, with the goal of consolidating and strengthening the two nations' comprehensive relationship.
Dendias is visiting India for the first time, having been invited by Jaishankar. On June 26, 2021, Jaishankar paid a visit to Athens. According to a press release from the Ministry of External Affairs, "this exchange of visits will cement and further enhance the multifaceted partnership between India and Greece."
India and Greece have strong and amicable ties that date back thousands of years. According to the MEA, the two Ministers will conduct a complete review of bilateral relations and address regional and international topics of mutual importance. The two ministers are also expected to talk on the situation in Ukraine, the Indo-Pacific area, the Eastern Mediterranean, and other international issues.
During his visit to New Delhi, the Greek Foreign Minister will meet with M Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.
