New Delhi:  Dr.S. Jaishankar, the esteemed External Affairs Minister, reaffirmed his commitment to serving the nation by taking the oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament. His re-election to this prestigious position came after his victory as a BJP representative from Gujarat.

Having secured his place in the Rajya Sabha through the biennial elections conducted in July, this marks Jaishankar's second term in this distinguished assembly. Expressing his deep sense of honor, he shared his sentiments on X (formerly known as Twitter), stating, "Today, I take the oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha, India's Council of States. Grateful for this privilege."

Jaishankar, who transitioned from a career diplomat to a dedicated politician, extended his gratitude to the people of Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the BJP for the remarkable opportunity to further serve the nation. His journey into the Union Cabinet in 2019 and subsequent election to the Upper House of Parliament underscore his commitment to contributing to the country's progress.
