Arunachal Pradesh: Tawang was jolted awake by a sudden and perplexing earthquake, measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale, as reported by the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The unexpected event took place precisely at 6.56 am, catching everyone off guard. The quake's epicenter was recorded at a depth of 5 kilometers, making it quite a mysterious occurrence.

"Earthquake of Magnitude:3.3, Occurred on 22-07-2023, 06:56:08 IST, Lat: 27.44 & Long: 92.51, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India," the NCS tweeted, trying to provide some clarity amidst the chaos.

Interestingly, this recent seismic activity follows a series of quakes that struck Rajasthan's Jaipur just a day before. The unpredictability of these occurrences has been a matter of concern. The latest quake, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, struck around 4.25 am, at a depth of 10 kilometers, adding to the uncertainty.

What's even more intriguing is that in the span of half an hour, the region experienced three distinct quakes. The first, with a magnitude of 4.4, occurred at 4.09 am, and the second, measuring 3.1, followed at 4.22 am. Both these quakes struck at different depths - 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers, respectively. Such burstiness in the occurrence of quakes has puzzled experts and raised questions about the underlying causes.

As researchers continue to study these events, the region remains on alert, cautious of any future surprises that the unpredictable nature of earthquakes might bring.
