Pakistan was jolted awake by a magnitude 4.2 earthquake early on Tuesday, according to reports from the National Center for Seismology (NCS). The seismic event struck at 3:38 am (IST) with its epicenter recorded at 34.66 degrees north latitude and 73.51 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 10 km.

"Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.2, Occurred on 28-11-2023, 03:38:03 IST, Lat: 34.66 & Long: 73.51, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Pakistan," the NCS posted on X.

Simultaneously, a powerful magnitude 6.5 earthquake rocked the vicinity near the North Coast of New Guinea just minutes before the tremors were felt in Pakistan. The National Center for Seismology reported that the quake occurred at around 3:16 am with a depth of 10 km.

Additionally, Xizang experienced a 5.0 magnitude earthquake on the Richter Scale at 3:45 am, with a considerably deeper epicenter recorded at 140 km.

These seismic activities across different countries all took place during the early hours of Tuesday. In a previous seismic event in September, Pakistan had experienced a magnitude 4.4 earthquake at a depth of 10 km, as detailed by the NCS.
