In August, the East Central Railway earned Rs 1331.93 crore from goods loading, Rs 237.26 crore from passenger traffic and Rs 19.55 crore from other sources. In August last year, ECR earned Rs 1134.93 crore from freight and Rs 218.80 crore from passenger traffic. At the same time, South-East Central Railway stood second in this period.
South-East Central Railway has earned a profit of Rs 1522.32 crore. East Coast Railway is at the third position after earning an income of Rs 1517.74. According to the information received from the Right to Information, Railways have earned huge revenue from the passengers who booked Tatkal tickets.
