Aligarh: Muslim organisation Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has written to the Election Commission seeking a ban on the 'Dharma Sansad' to be held in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh on January 22 and 23. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind says the aim of the event is to air communal allegations and bring them into the public spotlight before the elections. So it should be stopped in time.

Jamiat also wrote in his letter that such hate events should be banned during assembly elections. It may be recalled that the Sanatan Hindu Seva Sansthan has announced to organise the 'Sanatan Dharma Sansad' at Sanatan Bhawan in Naurangabad, Aligarh on January 22-23.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court also, a demand was raised to stay the holding of The Dharma Sansad in Aligarh. On the matter raised by senior Congress leader and lawyer by profession Kapil Sibal, the apex court had asked the local administration to make your point in this regard. The court will hear the matter only after receiving the response of the state government after ten days.
