Patna: Central investigation agencies CBI and ED have conducted raids in Bihar and Jharkhand. It is being said that the CBI has also raided the premises of Rashtriya Janata Dal MLC Sunil Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Ashfaq Karim in Patna in connection with the land for job case. The CBI raids here came at a time when the floor test is scheduled to be held in the Assembly on Wednesday.  

Rashtriya Janata Dal MLC Sunil Singh said, "This is being done deliberately. It doesn't make sense. They are using investigative agencies thinking that out of fear, MLAs will come in their favour. On the other hand, the Enforcement Directorate has also become active. The Enforcement Directorate has raided 17 locations in Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Delhi. It is being said that the Enforcement Directorate has raided in the case of illegal mining and extortion. These raids are being told on the premises related to Prem Prakash. Prem Prakash is said to have strong links with politicians. The raids were conducted after questioning Pankaj Mishra, MLA representative of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren.  

Actually, this incident is related to the recruitment scam. It is alleged that land and plots were taken in exchange for getting a job when Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister. After the investigation, in this case, the CBI registered a case against Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, Misa Yadav, Hema Yadav and some such candidates who were given jobs in exchange for plots or properties. Earlier in May, the CBI had raided 17 places related to Lalu Yadav in this case. The CBI operation lasted for about 14 hours. The raids were conducted at places in Patna, Gopalganj and Delhi of Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi and daughter Misa Bharti.
