New Delhi: Enforcement Directorate officials are questioning senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge in the National Herald case. As per the information received recently, the ED had sent him a notice asking him to be present for questioning on Monday. At 11 am on Monday, he reached the Enforcement Directorate office. Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and former president Rahul Gandhi are said to be accused in the case. In fact, in the National Herald case, the Enforcement Directorate is investigating the alleged financial irregularities.

Young Indian Housing Pvt. Ltd) has accused Congress of fraud, conspiracy and criminal breach of trust in the acquisition of Associated Journals Limited. In fact, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had created the Associated Journal Limited in 1937, which started bringing out three newspapers. Navjivan in Hindi, Qaumi Awaaz in Urdu and National Herald in English. In 2008, The Associated Journal Limited decided that it would no longer publish newspapers.

The associated journal limited had a debt of 90 crore rupees. In fact, in 2010, AJL, which was facing financial challenges, was acquired by a newly-created company called Young Indian Private Limited (YIL). Suman Dubey and technocrat Sam Pitroda were the directors of YIL. In this case, it is alleged that the Congress with an investment of Rs 50 lakh formed a not-for-profit company named Young Indian Private Limited, in which a 76% stake was owned by Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia Gandhi. The remaining 24% was owned by Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes, who are no longer in this world. Young India Private Limited acquired Associated Journal Limited.
