NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is currently conducting searches at nine locations associated with Raaj Kumar Anand, an influential figure in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a Delhi Minister. The searches commenced early this morning and primarily focus on Anand's alleged involvement in a money laundering case.

Among the targeted locations, the minister's residence in the Civil Lines area is a key area of interest. The ED's search teams are accompanied by a contingent of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to ensure a smooth operation.

These developments occur just hours before the scheduled questioning of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the ED's Delhi office in connection with a money laundering case linked to the controversial Delhi liquor policy.

The central agency has issued a summons to AAP's national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, requiring his appearance today to address matters concerning the Delhi excise policy.

In anticipation of potential protests by AAP members, heightened security measures have been implemented at the ED office located on Tughlaq Road in preparation for Kejriwal's arrival for questioning in the excise policy money laundering case. Multiple layers of barricades have been erected, and a substantial presence of both police and paramilitary personnel has been deployed, according to an official statement.

Furthermore, police personnel have been stationed on roads leading to the BJP office at DDU Marg in Central Delhi, with additional barricades near the AAP office in the ITO area.

Security precautions have been increased at Rajghat, where Arvind Kejriwal is expected to visit before proceeding to the ED office.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate are jointly investigating the Delhi government's recently revoked excise policy for the year 2021-22, alleging favoritism toward specific liquor dealers. The AAP vehemently denies these allegations.
