New Delhi: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the much-touted National Herald case. According to this, the ED has now summoned Sonia Gandhi for questioning on July 26 instead of July 25. Congress national general secretary KC Venugopal said, "Earlier they had called for questioning on Monday (July 25), but now they are saying that they are not in a comfortable position on that day. They are asking for a second date.''
Earlier, Sonia Gandhi had appeared before the ED on July 21, where she was questioned by ED officials for more than two hours. After which she was asked to come again on July 25. Sonia was questioned by the same assistant director level investigating officer of the ED. The same officials had also questioned Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in the same case. According to media reports, Sonia Gandhi had answered 27 of the 28 questions during interrogation.

Sonia Gandhi had been called for questioning twice in the past, but at that time Sonia could not appear due to Corona. In 2013, based on a complaint by BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, a lower court in Delhi had taken cognizance of the income tax department's investigation against Young India Limited. Swamy has accused Gandhi and others of cheating and conspiring to misuse the money. In February last year, the Delhi High Court issued a notice to the Gandhi family on Swamy's plea. At the same time, the ED had also questioned Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Pawan Bansal in April in connection with the case.
