New Delhi: After the lockdown, malls have been opened in the phase of unlock-1, but their business is not going well. A survey of the Retailers Association of India has given information in this regard. According to the survey, in the first fortnight of June compared to a year ago, the business of malls has fallen by 77 percent. That is, their business is less than 25 percent, compared to earlier, about 23 percent.
It is not that business is reduced only in malls. During this period, the business of retail traders of the markets has also registered a decline of 61 percent during this period. Experts say that despite relaxation in lockdown, consumers are not going to crowded places. People are avoiding shopping. According to the news agency PTI, this survey has said that the relaxation given in the lockdown is not benefiting the retail traders because their business is not getting any growth.
At the beginning of June, the government declared unlock-1 while relaxing the lockdown. Most of the states had also allowed the retail outlets of malls and big markets to open after about 70 days. Retailers Association of India said in a statement that, 'It has been found that the consumers' are not going to shop at malls. In a recent consumer survey, it has been found that 4 out of every 5 Indians have cut their shopping expenses since the lockdown.
