Chandigarh: 8 vendors of Chandigarh and their families are going to see the country's development journey on the duty path in Delhi. The Indian Government has also invited him as a special guest. Not only this, this time he is going to witness the Republic Day Parade 2024 on the path of duty. On behalf of the government, he is going to be taken to the Martyr Memorial in Delhi and a dinner is also going to be organized for him at Talkatora Stadium with three Union Ministers.

The objective of this initiative will be to provide an opportunity to people from different walks of life to participate in the national celebration, in line with the public participation approach of the Government. Complete preparations have been made by the Municipal Corporation for this visit. 

State Nodal Officer Vivek Trivedi has said that under the PM Swayam Nidhi Scheme, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation had sent a list of 50 vendors to the Center keeping in mind gender equality. The Ministry selected 10 vendors from among them and also invited them as special guests on the duty tour. However, one vendor selected died during this period and someone in the family of one vendor died, due to which he is unable to go. 

The other eight vendors will leave for Delhi with their families on Wednesday. Special arrangements have been made by the Ministry for special guests. There will be a visit to the Martyr Memorial on January 25 and then a dinner is going to be organized at Tal Katora Stadium with three Union Ministers in the night. He is going to witness the parade on 26th January. Special seating arrangements have also been made for bringing and carrying them. 

Beneficiaries of various schemes have been invited: French President Emmanuel Macron is going to be the chief guest at the parade this year. A 95-member marching squad and 33-member band of France are also going to participate in the parade. The parade will start at 10:30 am and is scheduled to last for approximately 90 minutes. The duty track has a seating capacity of 77,000 spectators, of which 42,000 are reserved for the general public. 

The special thing is that around 1700 to 1800 beneficiaries of various schemes of the Center have been made special guests. The Center has said that these guests are the pride of the country. These include people making best use of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi, PM Krishi Sinchai Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Stand-up India Yojana.

Exhibition in Bharat Mandapam, four SHGs got national recognition: With the help of the Municipal Corporation, the Self Help Groups (SHGs) of the city are working to create identity at the national level along with livelihood. Between January 3 and January 10, four self-help groups had set up stalls at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. SHGs making Arpan Agarbatti, RRR, Waste Material Products and Candle Making were included in this. 

The stall was visited by many prominent people of the country and the works were greatly appreciated. Also, during the Swachh Survekshan Awards on 11th January, two self groups from Chandigarh got the opportunity to set up their stalls in Bharat Mandapam. There were offerings and initiations in it. These also got recognition at the national level and the paths of progress opened. Some selected vendors of the city are going to get a chance to see the Republic Day Parade 2024 on the duty path of Delhi. This is a very good initiative. A few days ago, 4 self-help groups of the city had also organized an exhibition in Bharat Mandapam. This made the city famous at the national level.
