The Indian government has been urged by Ekta Kapoor to assist in locating Zulfikar Ahmad Khan, one of her former employees. At Ekta's production company Balaji Telefilms, Zulfikar served as the former Chief Operating Officer (COO). She posted his photo and a caption stating that he had been missing for the previous three months. In her post, she also mentioned the Kenya Red Cross.

He added, "#zulfiqarkhan has unfortunately been missing for more than 75 days, and we are concerned! I kindly ask you to sign the petition and spread the word that we want Zulfi back because I can only imagine the suffering, he must be causing his loved ones. An article from India Today claims that Nicodemus Mwania, a local taxi driver, and Zulfikar, two other Indians living in Kenya named Mohammad Zaid Sami Kidwai, have gone missing. Zulfikar's friends were also quoted in the report as saying that they were not aware of any search efforts to find him.
