Lucknow: In Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, a devastating accident unfolded when a gas cylinder exploded during cooking in a railway colony residence. The blast sparked a fierce fire that quickly engulfed the house, trapping its occupants. Among them was Shivji Shah, a 75-year-old man grappling with paralysis, who suffered severe burns in the blaze. Despite efforts to douse the flames, they raged out of control, culminating in a fatal explosion that claimed Shah's life.
Authorities swiftly responded to the scene, summoning both the fire brigade and the police. Firefighters battled the inferno, working to contain the blaze and prevent further harm. Amidst the charred remnants of the home, investigators discovered two cylinders, one of which bore signs of damage, indicating its role in the tragic incident. Shah, hailing from Bihar but residing primarily with his son in the railway colony, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
