Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Election Officer said that the Panchayat elections on February 8, 9, 13 and 17 will be held in four phases as per the schedule announced on February 8. State Election Officer Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has decided to conduct panchayat elections as per the schedule announced on February 8, despite the Andhra Pradesh government challenging the High Court's decision to hold the Panchayat elections.

Ramesh Kumar released a statement to the media on Thursday. He said the High Court had ruled in support of conducting panchayat elections on Thursday. For this reason, the election code came into effect in the state rural areas from Thursday. Similarly, the Principal Secretary of panchayat raj was called to meet Gopalakrishna Dwivedi and Commissioner Girija Shankar at 4 pm on Friday.

The election officer told the Chief Secretary not to include public representatives in the welfare schemes distribution system programs that affect rural voters.
