Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former CM Akhilesh Yadav seems to be losing his strength with Swami Prasad Maurya. In fact, the Election Commission has taken cognizance of the crowd of thousands of workers who gathered during the membership ceremony at the SP headquarters in Lucknow. The Election Commission has ordered an inquiry by the District Election Officer DM.

Lucknow District Collector Abhishek Prakash has since sent a team to videography the entire case. DM Abhishek says the SP programme has taken place without permission. On receiving the information, a police team along with the magistrate has been sent to the SP headquarters. Necessary action will be taken on the basis of the report. The Election Commission has issued guidelines on prevention of infection in the UP assembly elections, which are taking place amid the third wave of corona.

EC has asked all parties to campaign following these guidelines, but a crowd of thousands of workers gathered at the membership ceremony at the SP headquarters today. In fact, six MLAs including Swami Prasad Maurya, Dharam Singh Saini, who are from BJP, were joining the SP today. A virtual rally was organised by the SP on the occasion.
