New Delhi: Electric vehicle maker Tesla (TESLA) issued a statement saying that the company's CEO Elon Musk earned zero last year. That is, they haven't earned anything last year. The carmaker, which has released a regulatory filing, has made several major announcements about the upcoming program.

The statement said Elon Musk's income in 2019 was $23,760. However, earnings in 2020 Nill remained zero. According to the statement, base salary is based on personal role, performance, and competitive market. It says, 'Musk historically paid a base salary, which reflects the minimum wage requirements applicable under California law and was subject to income tax on the basis of such base salary. However, he never accepted that salary. At Musk's request, in May 2019, we completely abolished the base salary earnings.' Tesla's CEO and the company's Amazon shareholder also have good options in their pay package in 2018, which has now exceeded billions.

The company's statement also mentions the base salary of other Tesla officials, including Zakari Kirkhornle, Jerome Guillen, and Andrew Baglino. Tesla Finance Chief Zakari Kirkhornle received $46.6 million in 2020. This is followed by Elon musk's contribution to the company. The statement said Elon Musk has been holding the post of CEO of the company since 2008 and has made a significant contribution to the company.
