Dumka: The encounter between police and Naxals broke out on Sunday morning in Taldengar of Ranieshwar police station area of City. Four Jawans were injured and one Jawan was martyred. The four jawans were brought to Dumka Sadr Hospital. Where looking the critical condition of one policeman, he was sent to Ranchi hospital with the help of a  helicopter.

 According to information, police claim that about 5 naxals have been shot. Who have fled towards the jungle. SSB, ZAP and district police personnel were involved in the encounter. The Martyr Jawan has been identified as Assam resident Neeraj Shashtri. While the injured Jawans include Rajesh Kumar, Karan Kumar, Satish Gurjar and Sonu Kumar. Rajesh Kumar's position has been sent to Ranchi.

The SP said that they were getting information from two-three days back that Naxalites have converged in the forest and hilly areas of the area and are planning to carry out a major incident. Based on the same information, the search operation was being conducted here. In the meantime, the Naxalites suddenly started firing at the Jawans. The Jawans were also fired in response. The search operation is currently underway in the area.
