A terrorist is reported dead in an encounter at Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter broke out between security personnel and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Tuesday.
The Kashmir police officials took to the Twitter writing “Encounter has started at Vailoo, Kokernag area of Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice.” Three terrorists of the Lashkar-e-Taiba are trapped in the area as per the news agency ANI reported. The statement was quoted by Vijay Kumar, inspector-general of police, Kashmir. The police said “Family members of the trapped terrorists were also called to the encounter site to motivate and persuade them to surrender.”
A search operation in the area was going on where officials ascertained the presence of terrorist. All of them were given an opportunity to surrender, according to police. On May 6, three Al-Badr terrorists were killed and one surrendered before the security forces after an encounter in Shopian district.
