National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated every year on 14 December to spread the message on the importance of energy conservation and to showcase the nation's achievements in energy efficiency and conservation. President Smt. Draupadi Murmu is scheduled to participate in the National Energy Conservation Day 2023 celebrations to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on December 14, 2023. On this occasion, the President is going to address the gathering and also honor the winners of the National Energy Conservation Award 2023, National Energy Efficiency Innovation Award 2023 and National Painting Competition 2023 on Energy Conservation.

National Energy Conservation Day and Awards is organized by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, which is mandated as per the Energy Conservation Act 2001 to regulate and promote national energy efficiency and its conservation in India. Let us tell you that Union Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy Shri RK Singh is going to address on this occasion. Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Shri Krishna Pal and Secretary, Ministry of Power, Shri Pankaj Aggarwal will also be present.

National Energy Conservation Award 2023

Let us inform that BEE, under the guidance of the Ministry of Energy, is helping industrial units, institutions and establishments in reducing energy consumption by honoring energy conservation awards on the special occasion of National Energy Conservation Day to increase awareness about energy efficiency and its conservation. Acknowledges the efforts and is encouraging them. Applications for NECA 2023 were open till November 9, 2023 and a total of 516 applications were received. Out of which a total of 63 awards including 20 first prizes, 16 second prizes and 27 recognition certificates are being awarded.

National Energy Efficiency Innovation Award (NEEIA) 2023

NEEIA was launched in the year 2021 to recognize India's outstanding work and innovative ideas in the field of energy efficiency. Online applications have also been invited for NEEIA 2023 for various categories namely Category A: Industry, Building and Transport and Category B: Students and Research Scholars. Awards are evaluated based on replication, affordability, reliability, impact on energy savings, and impact on the environment and sustainability. Applications for NEEIA 2023 were open till November 9, 2023 and a total of 187 applications were received. Out of these, a total of 8 awards including 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 6 recognition certificates are being awarded.
