Srinagar: Former CM and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah is facing increasing difficulties in the scam related to Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. Several new revelations have been made in the money fraud case by the Enforcement Directorate. The ED claims that Farooq Abdullah as president had improperly made several appointments in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. Through this, Farooq Abdullah also misused the funds of Cricket Association.

The ED has claimed that Farooq Abdullah misused the position for his economic benefit. From 2005 to 2011, the BCCI gave about 110 crore rupees to the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, out of which about 45 crore rupees were embezzled. Farooq Abdullah held the post of head of Cricket Association at this time. ED says that during this time 6 new bank accounts were opened, through which cash was withdrawn. An amount of about 25 crore rupees was withdrawn and put into a private account.

Earlier ED had seized the property of Farooq Abdullah while taking action in the Jammu and Kashmir cricket scam case. On behalf of ED, 3 houses, 2 plots and 1 commercial property attached to Farooq Abdullah in JK Cricket Association's fund scam were worth about Rs 12 crore.
