New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated an inquiry into matters related to Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Azam Khan and Johar University. On Wednesday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team arrived in Rampur and recorded statements of several farmers. Mp Azam Khan has registered 28 cases of farmers' land grab. The filing of the case against SP MP Azam Khan began almost a year ago. About 90 cases were registered against him, including 28 cases of land grab for Johar University.

In August 2019, ED also took cognizance of it. A money laundering case was registered against Azam Khan at the Lucknow office of the investigating agency ED. The administration had also sought a record in this regard, which had been sent since then, but suddenly on Wednesday, the team from Lucknow led by the assistant director reached Rampur..

The investigation team summoned the farmers of Aliaganj, who filed the report at Azim Nagar police station and questioned them about the possession of the lands. The team was calling one farmer inside and raising information. Later, the ED team also reached the primary school premises of Singankheda and enquired about the land.
