New Delhi: The England team have arrived straight in Chennai, leaving Sri Lanka to play a four-match Test series against India. England team players and sports staff members, including captain Joe Root, have arrived at Chennai airport. The four-match Test series between India and England is going to begin on February 5.
The opening two Tests will be played at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Ahead of the tour of India, the England cricket team had put up a 2-0 clean-up in the Test series. Captain Joe Root and his team arrived in Chennai at 10.30 am Sri Lanka and went straight to the hotel, where bio bubbles have been created for both teams. Team India star batsman Rohit Sharma, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane reached here last night, while Cheteshwar Pujara, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rishabh Pant arrived in Chennai this morning.
Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri has arrived in Mumbai. Skipper Virat Kohli will arrive on Wednesday evening. Both teams are staying at the Hotel Lila Palace, where the bio-bubble has been built. The teams will start practicing from February 2 after being in quarantine for six days. The players will also have a corona test.
