New Delhi: The country's capital Delhi and its surrounding areas are also witnessing a change in weather. With this, Delhi has got relief from the cold wave and fog is also decreasing. Along with this, the temperature is increasing. According to the Meteorological Department, this change is being seen due to the new western disturbance. 

In Delhi, at around 5.30 am today, Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 12.2 degrees Celsius, which is 2.8 degrees more than yesterday (Thursday). At the same time, Palam has seen an increase of 3 degrees. Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 12.8 degrees Celsius today. However, according to the Meteorological Department, there may be intermittent light rains in north Delhi, northwest Delhi, isolated places of west Delhi, and surrounding areas today (Friday). Due to the sudden change in Delhi's weather, there is a new active western disturbance, due to which the temperature is increasing. This has also led to a change in the wind pattern. Along with this, there is more chance of rain in Delhi in the coming days. Rainfall is likely to continue in Delhi from January 22 to January 25. Light rain can be seen on January 22, while rainfall activities can be seen from January 23 to 25.

A severe western disturbance from tonight will affect northwest India. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is likely to occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on January 20-22, and heavy rain or snowfall is expected from January 23 to 26, 2023. There is also a possibility of sporadic hailstorms in the western Himalayan region on January 23 and 24, 2023. Apart from this, between January 23 and 26, there is a possibility of rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, north Rajasthan, and western Uttar Pradesh.
