Nainital: In view of the threat of Coronavirus, sanitizer is being sprayed in a large scale in urban and rural areas, but environmental experts are calling it a new threat to the ecosystem. They say that many small insect-moths and butterflies can die by spraying sanitizer in agricultural areas.

It is noteworthy that due to the spread of coronavirus, spreading rapidly all over the world, caution is being taken in urban areas as well as rural areas. Like the cities here, the areas are being sanitized according to the orders of the government, so that the infection of the virus can be prevented. But environmentalists have expressed concern over the spraying being done in cultivated areas. Environmentalists have said that this could prove fatal to the ecosystem after spraying sanitizer from village to village in the mountainous areas of Uttarakhand.

He said that the sanitizer is being sprayed on trees and plants in many places around the houses, which is a cause for concern. Kalyan Singh Rawat, the founder of Padma Shri and Maiti movement has told that the way sanitizer is being sprayed in the village can have opposite results. Many small insect mites, bees and butterflies can die. They say that these medicines are being sprayed in the village areas due to unprovoked fear.
