In the Ericsson outstanding case of the year 2019, billionaire Mukesh Ambani did not help his younger brother Anil Ambani to save him from going to jail. Instead, Anil Ambani's company Reliance Communications (rcom) paid Ericsson's outstanding amount by leasing corporate property to Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries. According to legal documents submitted by Anil Ambani in the UK court in the financial dispute case with Chinese banks, they received Rs. 460 crores.

According to media reports, a spokesman for Anil Ambani said, "The Ericsson case is linked to a corporate liability, and the amount to complete it was raised through a corporate transaction by leasing corporate assets. Mukesh Ambani had not given any gift to Anil Ambani for its payment. However, it is not clear which asset was leased out.

On March 18, 2019, Reliance Communications issued a press release stating that Ericsson, a Swedish telecommunications equipment company, had made a payment of Rs 458.77 crore. Anil Ambani thanked his elder brother Mukesh Ambani, Bhabhi Nita Ambani for his assistance in this hour of danger. Anil Ambani said, "I thank my elder brother Mukesh and Bhabhi Nita for standing with me at this time of crisis. By helping on such an occasion, he showed how important it is to stand with the truth towards our family values. I and my family are happy that we have come out of the old things and express their gratitude for the elder brother's move. '
