Lucknow: A Special CBI court on Wednesday convicted police personnel in the 2006 encounter case in Etah district of Uttar Pradesh. The CBI court has sentenced five accused to life imprisonment in the fake encounter case and also imposed a fine of Rs 33,000-33,000 on all of them. The other four accused have been sentenced to five years in jail and a fine of Rs 11,000. At the same time, one of the accused died during the trial.

After a long time of 16 years, the innocent man who was killed in a fake encounter got this justice from the CBI court on Wednesday. Let us tell you that in 2006, a case of a fake encounter of a carpenter named Raja Ram came to light in Etah, after which Raja Ram's wife appealed against the encounter from the lower court to the High Court. At that time, the state was ruled by the Samajwadi Party (SP) under the leadership of Mulayam Singh. The high court then handed over the case to the CBI. In this case of 2006, the CBI court had proved the guilt of the accused, after which it was announced on Wednesday after the argument on the sentence.

According to the report, the man killed in the fake encounter used to work as a carpenter and had also worked at the house of many policemen, the police knew him well, but after the encounter, the police also cremated his body in an unknown way. The policemen had killed Raja Ram in an encounter, claiming that he was involved in the robbery, but the police could not present the weapon with which he allegedly committed the robbery.
