His father had advised him to see three places in life. Shahrukh told, "My father had said that you must see three places in life: Istanbul, Rome, and Kashmir. But the special thing was that he said that you can see the rest of the places without me, but do not see Kashmir without me, I will show you myself."

Why did Shahrukh not go to Kashmir?: Shahrukh's father died very early, and Shahrukh has traveled all over the world, but he has not visited Kashmir till date. The reason behind this is that his father had said that he would show him Kashmir. Shahrukh took his father's words to heart and always stayed away from going to Kashmir. Many opportunities came, friends and family called him, but Shahrukh never went to Kashmir.

Father's stories related to Kashmir: Shahrukh had heard stories of Kashmir from his father in his childhood. Taj Mohammad Khan was born in Kashmir and used to tell stories of that place to Shahrukh. He used to tell him about the culture, simplicity and beauty of the people there. Shahrukh never set foot on the land of Kashmir, but he has been feeling Kashmir since childhood through his father's stories.

Shahrukh's connection with Kashmir: Although Shahrukh has never seen Kashmir, but the memories of his father and his words are very close to Shahrukh's heart. He did not go to Kashmir to fulfill this last wish of his father and probably will never go. This is a symbol of his true respect and reverence for his father. Shahrukh Khan has completed his journey with hard work and his struggle and dedication have played a big role in reaching where he is today.
