Chandigarh: Nirmal Singh, a former Haryana Congress leader who was also a minister in the state, would join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday afternoon in the national capital.

Haryana Democratic Front was also created by him. Before joining the party, Singh and his daughter Chitra Sarwara would meet with Kejriwal at his home.

During a press conference with Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia at the AAP headquarters, the former minister will join the party. Singh also served in the Haryana government for two terms as a minister. Singh has served in the legislature four times. In 1982, 1991, 1996, and 2005, he won the Naggal Assembly constituency.

Notably, following the AAP's recent landslide victory in Punjab's Assembly elections, a slew of new figures have joined the party. Haryana and Himachal Pradesh are two states where the AAP wants to expand.

In the presence of party national convener Arvind Kejriwal, former Congress Haryana party leader Ashok Tanwar joined the AAP in the national capital earlier on Monday.
