Ex Madras High Court judge Selvam to head TN's 4th Police Commission

CHENNAI: Justice C.T. Selvam, a retired judge from the Madras High Court, will lead the Tamil Nadu government's fourth Police Commission, according to a statement released by the Chief Minister's Office on Wednesday.

Other members include retired IAS officer K. Alauddin, retired IPS officer K. Radhakrishnan, Dr. C. Ramasubramaniam, and retired professor Nalini Rao, with ADGP Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal serving as member secretary. The Commission will look into various aspects of policing as well as measures to improve the welfare of police officers.

The group will provide recommendations to improve policing, make the Tamil Nadu Police a better police force, improve cyber policing, policing with a humanitarian attitude, and improve the police-public connection.

The DMK promised the formation of the fourth Police Commission in its election campaign.
